Samantha (Sam) Gambling

Provincial Coordinator, BC Chapter

Sam Gambling works for the Public Health Association of BC (PHABC), coordinating the BC Chapter of the Coalition for Healthy School Food. She formerly worked for PHABC as a Community Animator with Farm to School BC.

She is an MSc. alumna from UBC's Faculty of Land and Food Systems where she studied agricultural policy and food sovereignty. She's also a graduate of the UBC Farm sustainable agriculture practicum and United Way's Public Policy Institute.

In her free time, you’ll find Sam out in her garden, riding her bike around town or hosting dinners and gatherings with friends and community!

Sue-Anne Banks

Indigenous Lead, BC Chapter

Sue-Anne Banks works for the Public Health Association of BC (PHABC) and is the Indigenous Lead for the BC Chapter of the Coalition for Healthy School Food.

She is a thesis candidate in the MA in Leadership program at Royal Roads University and works in Indigenous student engagement.

She is a recent technology student in web development, UX design, digital marketing and virtual production. She is also a writer with a focus on poetry and storytelling. Using her multidisciplinary roles, she weaves together the importance of Indigenous voices in all that she does.

Steering Committee

Steering Committee Members are representatives of member organizations within the Coalition, with the capacity to offer more sustaining support to the BC Chapter. The Steering Committee is the decision-making body of the BC Chapter; however, its decisions must reflect the input of member organizations.
