How to become a member or an endorser of Quebec Chapter?

Organizations must complete the “Become a member”(https://airtable.com/appnvVPmv5M1SlhUx/shr8bu6MDriDiLcf4) or “Become an endorser”(https://airtable.com/appnvVPmv5M1SlhUx/shr6ZIcmLpXJdmnpV) form and
adhere to the Coalition's guiding principles.(https://www.healthyschoolfood.ca/guiding-principles) All Coalition member and endorser organizations
based in Quebec automatically become members of the Quebec Chapter.
Each member organization will designate one individual as its official representative. Additional representatives from the same organization may also request to be added to the mailing list. More than one representative from a single organization may attend the annual members’ meetings.

Which organizations/entities can become members or endorsers?

Accepted Answer

Members: Open to nonprofit organizations and groups from various sectors, including cooperatives and social enterprises (not-for-profit), federations, associations, unions, research chairs, and networks composed of nonprofit organizations that support the Coalition’s mission and vision. Organizations without legal status but hosted by a nonprofit organization may also become members.
Endorsers: Open to para-governmental organizations, schools, school service centres, school boards, municipalities, and other nonprofit organizations that support the Coalition’s mission and vision but choose not to—or cannot—become members.

Which organizations/entities cannot become members or endorsers?

Accepted Answer

Private or for-profit entities are not eligible to become members or endorsers. Additionally, charitable foundations that have financial ties or dependencies with for-profit companies are ineligible to join the Coalition.

Question 4

What is the difference between members and endorsers?

Accepted Answer

Members and endorsers have nearly the same roles and responsibilities, receive the same communications from the Collectif, and are consulted simultaneously. The main difference is that endorsers cannot run for the Executive Committee nor vote to approve new Executive Committee members. On rare occasions when a vote is requested from members, endorsers are not eligible to vote.

What are the roles and responsibilities of members and endorsers?

Members and endorsers receive regular updates on school food and are invited to participate in annual meetings. They can express their views, join thematic committees, and take part in strategic discussions about the Collectif’s development. Members also have the opportunity to participate in the nomination of executive committee members.
